Portugal's 2026 summer calendar is one of the strongest in years. April – May 2026

IndieLisboa Film Festival (April 30 – May 10, Lisbon)

International independent film festival at Cinema São Jorge and other Lisbon venues. 11 days of global indie films, documentaries and shorts. Tickets €6–15 per screening.

Queima das Fitas, Coimbra (May 14–22)

Coimbra's ancient university celebrates graduates with a week of serenades, parades, concerts, and the ceremonial ribbon-burning.

June 2026

Primavera Sound Porto (June 11–14)

Four days at Parque da Cidade with The xx, Gorillaz, Massive Attack, IDLES, Big Thief, Slowdive and more. One of Europe's most acclaimed music festivals.

Festas de Lisboa — Santo António (June 1–30, Lisbon)

Month-long celebration of Saint Anthony. Street parties, sardine grills, fado concerts, parades. Peaks June 12–13. Free entry.

Rock in Rio Lisboa (June 20–28)

Nine days at Parque Tejo with Katy Perry, Linkin Park, Cypress Hill, Rod Stewart and more.

Festa de São João (June 23–24, Porto)

LISB-ON Festival (July 3–5, Lisbon)

Electronic music festival in Monsanto Park. Techno, house, jazz and soul.

Afro Nation Portugal (July 3–5, Algarve)

World's biggest Afrobeats festival on the beach at Praia da Rocha. Asake, Tyla, Wizkid, Burna Boy headlining.

Sumol Summer Fest (July 4–5, Ericeira)

Music, surf and beach vibes at Europe's Surf Reserve town of Ericeira.

NOS Alive (July 9–11, Oeiras)

RFM Somnii (July 10–12, Figueira da Foz)

Vagos Metal Fest (August 5–9, Vagos)
